How do i get rid of viruses with norton 360?free anti virus

Frankly, Norton is not the best antivirus. I'd suggest getting a new one: Avast! is free and NOD32 is more in-depth but costs. Otherwise, try searching the name that Norton says to see what others have to say about that particular virus.

How do you get rid of viruses on your computer without buying the software?

The computer I use has like 23 viruses of all sorts on it and I can barely get on the internet without it kicking me off!!!! HELP!!!!

How do you know you have 23 viruses if you're not running an AV program already? If the AV program you are running is telling you that you have to ''buy now'' before it will help you out then dump that trash.

AVG provides a very decent free AV solutions and can be downloaded here: http://free.grisoft.com/

ClamWin is another good free scanner: http://www.clamwin.com/

If you're having trouble getting onto the internet, I highly suspect you also have a spyware issue. Go get Spybot Search and Destroy to sort that out: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

And again, those are all free. Hope that helps.

Another poster already mentioned AVG Free, so I won't bother. *wink* It's the same program I use; it's free and has regular updates.

It also would be a really good idea to get a firewall. The basic firewall that Windows released with SP2 is, well...crap. A good free option is ZoneAlarm. They have a pay version that has a lot of nice %26 useful options, but the free version is perfectly functional. A functional firewall will not only limit what comes into your PC, but also what goes OUT--like info from keyloggers and such. Good luck.
You could install AVG, which is a free anti-virus software. When you install it, make sure everything updates, then unplug your computer from the Internet so the viruses can't communicate with the Internet, then scan the computer and remove the viruses.
Some of them will stay there once you restart the computer. Best thing you can do is have your OS CD and a valid serial if you need one to format and re-install the OS.
Some companies offer a dumbed down free anti virus programs. Really though...it wouldnt hurt to invest it a decent one to protect your computer, privacy, and information.
You can get mc afee free for an year if you have AOL account or if you register on AOL.. from here/

Is it true or still true that macs don't get viruses?

Since most viruses and such are made for PC's.. is it really true that macs don't get all the crap that PC's get? Since Macs are getting more popular do you think that this will continue in the future or is there another reason besides popularity that viruses are really only prevalent on PCs?

Or do macs get viruses and crap a lot too?

Is it true or still true that macs don't get viruses?free antivirus

Mac's are not immune and never have been. Mac's didn't get viruses and spyware because there wasn't enough of them to justify the expense and time to write the viruses and spyware to attack the OS's and Browsers.

In recent articles in Tech News sites like Cnet, Ziff Davis, and others, they are doing articles about Mac's getting more attacks. With the recent growth in Mac sales, organized crime orginizations are writing spyware and viruses to attack Mac's and get the personal information. In one article an expert stated that Mac users are more likely to have personal information on their computer because they believe they are virus and spyware proof. Organized Crime are out to get all the needed info for Identity theft.

Since Jan 07, Apple has been putting out several Security Updates a month to fix security flaws in Macs OS and the Browser.

Help!!Ran AVG 7.0 PRO trial version that found 5 viruses and 1 trojan, they could not be fixed.?kawasaki

Trial version helps you scan your computer for free, but they will not remove all the infections, only few of them. They will ask you to buy the full version to be able to eliminate them all.
go out to symantec web sight and download a tool to remove it.
First: Go to Java and download Update 7 and then remove all older versions from Add/Remove programs.

http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_...

Second: Go here and run the online scan and removal. Remove all that it finds.

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If there is anything that housecall could not remove the go here and follow the procedure. Although they are using Anti-spy programs, Anti-Virus programs can be used following the same procedure.

If there is anything that hasn't been removed then go here and post a thread. Be sure to put the name of the virus or spyware in the thread. Watch for answers from onemjc, jibberjabber, trueorient, rattler243.

run a boot time scan. Most likely these have tied themselves to system critical files (IE, etc.). At boot time these programs are not yet critical and should be able to be removed.

With limewire, what is it that gives you the viruses?

when you get limewire from viruses, is it just from downloading the limewire application? or is it from the songs that you download that happen to have viruses?

With limewire, what is it that gives you the viruses?free spyware remover

You are not getting viruses from limewire. It is the items you are downloading that are causing you trouble. And not all files you downline from limewire will contain viruses.

But to be safe, you should be using a LIVE antivirus program that stops and heals the infected file before it hurts your computer. I use this free one, which is incredibly reliable...

With limewire, what is it that gives you the viruses?ktm

the reason that you get viruses is becuase of the files that you download. Usually it's program files. Music files are generally OK
limewire is crap! stop using it and learn what bittorrent is.
mm ... its not paying attention to what ur downloading ... yes, its the actual stuff u download and open that is the problem ...
the limewire application itself is not a virus, if it was then no one would use it. It is the stuff you download off of it. It can be anything. Programs are the most likely though because they actually install on your pc. Never download a program off of limewire. That is the stupidest thing you can do. Most songs will not contain a virus.
Limewire does not give you viruses.. At least not if you downloaded it from there website.. But, with limewire you can download viruses.. A lot of files that are available via Limewire are viruses disguised as other things.. The best think I can advise is to get a anti-virus program and to read the limewire forums on there website to give you an idea of what to watch out for.. I've learned that most of the time by looking at the size of the file you will be able to avoid a lot of the bad files on limewire.. Check out Limewires forums, there is a lot of good info there on just this subject..
Dont download Exe files... Songs wont carry virus's(though they mite have licenseces which can lead you to sites with em(RARELY))and the applications CLEAN... Dont download porgrams, if you are then download Zips or Rars... that way You can get rid of them clean and easy... But if you get and infected Exe...(And the odds of that is 4000/1 lol) you could instantly have your computer die on you, hence causing you to A. Break down and cry, B. Rip it to shreds, C. go insane, or (less likely) D. Cheer, it was sucking the life out of you anyway..lol
limewire is a p2p programme, which means that your computer is connected to other computers around the world so if anybody wants to, they can send viruses to your computer through the files you download.

  • What is the best solution to viruses, which applied, needs least future attention/requirements.?

I'm a power user of electronic gadgets and I've used Symantec's latest (pirated, fully cracked) products, but viruses keep my pc and mobile dead slow!! I wonder what other people are doing to prevent their gadgets dying this slow death?

What is the best solution to viruses, which applied, needs least future attention/requirements.?free spyware

i'm using a different anti-virus solutions that you too surely love... it's a trial version but expires for a year... but the thing is you need to be connected to the internet to complete optimize your experience using this antivirus solution... it's eTrust EZ Antivirus... heard of it?! atleast its not pirated and you fully owned the license for one year... below is the link for the software... choose the first one with CA icon on the left... good luck!!!

What is the best solution to viruses, which applied, needs least future attention/requirements.?live update

I've always found Symantec's stuff to work for me, so I don't know what to tell you. My computer was really jaked up recently because I didn't have anything but free stuff installed, and I got Norton antivirus and ran it once and it fixed literally everything and I haven't had any problems since. The virus protection and regular scans work for me.
have u ever try to deleted them manually? also try spybot that is a great program that can help u to find trojans and other nasty stuff.

To people who print coupons online or know about viruses do you need the file they have you download

When I print coupons online sometimes the box that comes up to ask you if you want to download something comes on to put something on your computer when printing some coupons, I realy don't know what it's for, I'm assuming maybe it's for when the cashier scans the coupons on the cash register it makes it scan, that's my guess. Anyways, when I scan my computer for viruses Win32.Coupons shows up as a medium threat. It says it's a browser plug in and it can pose a threat to your security and/or your privacy so does anyone know if these are realy viruses or do you realy need these for your coupons and that's all it's used for?

To people who print coupons online or know about viruses do you need the file they have you download for coupohijack this

Go here and use the ATF cleaner free and it should take care of it.

unless it generates the coupons I doubt it is needed, and I wouldn't suggest downloading it on your computer. You can always take Win32.Coupons and do a google or yahoo search and see what it is, and then determine what you would like to do with the information. Good luck and I hope that helped.
