Is it true or still true that macs don't get viruses?

Since most viruses and such are made for PC's.. is it really true that macs don't get all the crap that PC's get? Since Macs are getting more popular do you think that this will continue in the future or is there another reason besides popularity that viruses are really only prevalent on PCs?

Or do macs get viruses and crap a lot too?

Mac's are not immune and never have been. Mac's didn't get viruses and spyware because there wasn't enough of them to justify the expense and time to write the viruses and spyware to attack the OS's and Browsers.

In recent articles in Tech News sites like Cnet, Ziff Davis, and others, they are doing articles about Mac's getting more attacks. With the recent growth in Mac sales, organized crime orginizations are writing spyware and viruses to attack Mac's and get the personal information. In one article an expert stated that Mac users are more likely to have personal information on their computer because they believe they are virus and spyware proof. Organized Crime are out to get all the needed info for Identity theft.

Since Jan 07, Apple has been putting out several Security Updates a month to fix security flaws in Macs OS and the Browser.
