Which free programs are best for removing viruses, keyloggers, worms, and stuff like that?

I just purchased a new HP laptop. I want to keep it safe from viruses, keyloggers, cookies, worms, etc. Which free programs are best for this? Please help! Thank you!

Which free programs are best for removing viruses, keyloggers, worms, and stuff like that?nortan antivirus

nice choice with spy sweeper. but you're gonna want more. antivirus programs are not 100% guaranteed to block all viruses. even the best ones let ones through so you want multiple antivirus programs, firewalls and antispyware programs.

for antivirus:

my first choice would be avast antivirus because it is not only free but better than a lot of other antivirus programs.

as a back up i'd recommend avg antivirus free edition because it's one of the most reliable antivirus programs but i find it to be a strain on slower computers for some odd reason. i personally paid for norton antivirus for my computer in addition to downloading avast because, norton antivirus gives you an amazing firewall, antivirus, fraudulant web monitering system and a boatload of tools but it isn't free. (if you got the cash BUY IT. otherwise use avg and avast til you scrape up the cash.)

for firewalls:

Comodo personal firewall is the best you can get and is miles ahead of expensive firewalls. it's totally free and it's better than any other firewall i've ever used so theres no reason not to get it. norton antivirus' firewall is great stuff too but if you can't afford a norton antivirus package zone alarm is a good alternative.
